Q : I have installed the XE8000 toolchain but nothing seems to work (can't compile anything). Why ?
A : The XE toolchain contains a component (the GNU compiler) that is called via the DOS command line, so you must make sure that some rules were respected during the installation:
Q : I installed the XE toolchain but an error occured at the end of the installation. Why ?
A : The problem may arise because of the settings of the environment variables (see System|Advanced) of your Windows environment. This problem can occur for versions BN 7.32 and older. The problem occurs if the ath is defined with more than 512 characters.
Redefine the path with less than 512 characters.
Q : I have downloaded a file called XELOADER.EXE, but the software used by Ride7 is ProStartInterface.exe. I still get programming and monitor errors. Why?
A : This problem occurs for versions BN 7.31 and older. 'ProStartInterface' is the old name of 'XELOADER'. Obviously, you have a version of RIDE that was released while 'ProStartinterface' was used.
Two options are possible:
Option 1 is faster, because you don't need to download the whole install of Ride7.
Option 2 is safer, because there may be other problems corrected between your version of Ride7 and the latest.
We recommend to try option 1, and then, if you still have problems, try option2.
