SIMICE-51 is Raisonance's powerful simulator for debugging applications for a complete range of 8051 target microcontrollers. It simulates instruction sets for a range of devices including advanced peripherals such a CAN and USB. It is also available in a version for multi-core simulation.

SIMICE-51 implements all the standard functions required for simulation. It is tightly integrated into Ride and uses the information generated by the RC-51 compiler or MA-51 assembler tools to provide full symbolic high-level debugging. A wide range of 'views' can be selected to provide flexible direct examination of all memory spaces, all internal peripherals, as well as high-level symbolic information. Function generators also allow dynamic signals to be applied to either a port or a memory space of the microcontroller.

The simulator takes into account the features of the selected component and simulates in detail most or all of the internal peripherals. In conjunction with Ride, it provides numerous ways to simulate external inputs and outputs. SIMICE-51 provides various emulator functions, such as trace management or complex breakpoint control.

The fast and smooth integration afforded by Ride promotes a feeling of familiarity and ease-of-use, while providing a level of comfort and efficiency that reduces the debugging of the most difficult and complex applications to tasks that are easily managed.

For users who need to recuperate assembly files from an executable (HEX file), the simulator also includes a disassembler. This featuring dynamically explores the code to detect Assembler instructions. The user can add symbols in the code and data memory spaces to acheive symboli disassembly and then save the results.
