The STM8A Primer is a complete development environment for creating applications for STMicroelectronics' STM8A 8-bit automotive grade microcontrollers, and for exploring CAN and LIN communications. It implements a communication “spy” for capturing CAN/LIN signals and outputting them to an external file. In addition, the Primer provides an easy-to-use platform for compiling application code, programming the STM8A and debugging applications in real-time time via a dedicated USB connection and SWIM interface.
The STM8A Primer provides a complete application development platform with Raisonance C compiler and Ride7 integrated development environment and sample application code. A 32 Kbyte C compiler license is available upon registration. Then, just plug the Primer into a USB port on the host PC and users have everything they need to start programming STM8, developing applications and exploring the possibilities of this power new 8-bit family from STMicroelectronics.
